It isn’t necessarily a very new trend in Kenya or in the world of fashion as it’s an oldie that dates back to the 80’s and the ice-dance costumes(where the dresses get their name from). What makes the skater dress distinctive from other styles is the high neck which is mostly rounded and plain. But designs are quickly changing with the round neck taking a back seat for other creative designs. The skater dress and skirt comes in all lengths and sizes. It’s perfect for all body sizes and accentuates every part of the body thanks to its narrow bodice synched waistline and the A-line skirt. One of the thing that makes the dress great in every aspect is how easy it is to wear. I loooove this dresses because of the beautiful full skirt and you can’t resist the urge to do a twirl in them. They are so Perfect! The skirt length is definitely what provides the glamor to every piece. The thigh-skimming length of most popular designs makes it ideal for creating stylish and sexy looks yet one which doesn’t scream “I’m available” to all and sundry. The short hemlines is definitely great for anyone who loves to show off their legs. The skater dress has that comfy, uber-feminine, and flowy cut that makes it wearable to any occasion. Get one with a longer hemline for a great office look and a short hemline for a casual look. Layer it up with a blazer or cardigan, add-on some stockings for when its chilly outside or for the modest dressers among us. Turn the sexy a notch higher by pairing it up with some killer heels like I did and a thin belt to accentuate the fitted waistline even further. A fancy neck piece to accessorize would also be cool!
