Hey Fashion lovers!!
How you doing?(Wendy Williams Voice). Hope the weather has been good to you! I seriously can’t complain over the sudden change of weather cause god knows I’ve been praying for that dry spell to end with all the crazy heat and the not so cool sunburns and not to mention the dust! Anyway, let me not go all mental over the weather, that is now old news….But, Hello baby making weather!! lol
Let’s talk fashion for a minute. Today we are all about midi skirts or what others may call mid length skirts, lets not burst each others bubbles over specifics. A popular trend loved by fashion houses such as Prada, Rodarte, Dior and Salvatore Ferragamo, just to mention a few, the midi skirt has to be the most classy and elegant must have piece of clothing any lady could have.
This is one trend in fashion I love and I’m all over it.Wearing skirts and dresses at this length can be tricky however because it’s not universally flattering, and if not styled appropriately, would leave you in the infamous books of the worst dressed;trust me nobody ever wants to make the list.
The trick here is balancing the proportions. The midi skirt is quite a conservative look and the only way you draw the line between the boring librarian look or looking like you shopped at forever 71 and chic bombshell, is balancing it out. If you are going for an A line midi skirt which has a demure silhouette and shape, definitely go for a more revealing top, since the skirt covers up so much leg.A cropped top would also make perfect sense for this look too.
For my look, I wore a midi pencil skirt which has this fabulous slit.I love the fact that the skirt gives you flexibility on how you would want to rock it, either with the slit at the front, the back or at the side,it’s entirely your choice. My most preferred shoe for midi skirts is definitely the pointed heel or a strappy heel which gives the best effect, making your legs look more leaner and longer. You absolutely must wear a heeled shoe—no exceptions, no excuses. It may sound draconian, but trust me: for this occasion, flats are not your friend.
I paired my super gorgeous green skirt with a stripped top which had a bit of green on it (purely coincidental by the way) and a black and white Celine bag and tonnes of edgy jewellery to make the look more elegant. P.S when it comes to tops and midis, you might want to tuck that baby up!
