MY TWO CENTS: FASHION CRIMES

“People will stare…Make it worth their while!”

Hello there! Lovely Thursday to you all. The first month of the year is finally bidding us adieu and well I don’t know if I should be excited, considering that I have so much to accomplish this year, I guess I’ll just have to keep up right? Anyway I decided to do a bit of venting today and discuss the fashion crimes that we are subjected to on a daily and in the wise words of Elsa Schiaparelli, “In difficult times, fashion is always outrageous”…and we are living in difficult times but I’m not so sure she was referring to this though! Every day we come across some pretty extreme outfits everywhere we go from our very own fashion victims. Today we shine a light on five awful visual assaults that our eyes are subjected to that should help us all discover the critical areas that need to be polished to perfection. So here goes…

It’s Christmas Eve!!!

Fashion Rehab, Personal Style

Hello fashion lovers!!

Merry Christmas eve to you all. The season is back again and though it’s a bit cold on this sides of town not because it’s snowing, but the rain suddenly decided to pull a one on us and now I’m stuck indoors watching the T.V Christmas specials (which are mostly repeats of what they decided to show last year) ,but I’ve learnt not to expect much from Kenyan t.v as there is simply nothing much to watch.

With Christmas just some hours away, I couldn’t help but notice how the whole Christmas spirit has been fading away little by little with each passing year, which is quite sad if you think about it. either people have been overwhelmed by a season that seems to promise more than it can deliver or the usual Christmas traditions are becoming a bit too cliché for everyone and no one is quite eager to indulge in them, maybe its just in Kenya or maybe the lack of snow on a Christmas day in Kenya or Africa in general makes it less ‘Christmasy’!…my opinion and observations again might be wrong.

Wedding Vibes!!!!

Hey guys! It’s been a long minute! Hope you had missed us. Anyway a lot has been taking place and maybe that’s a good excuse for our silence, but not to worry, we back, so do not fret!

Time is  moving fast and we are definitely not growing any younger. There is nothing that serves as a good reminder of this fact like watching your friends get married, have kids, start working and the whole cycle of life, but let me not get all emotional about it since we all know we are not going to be 18 forever!(which sucks by the way).

A friend of ours got married recently, Congratulations to the couple, and we had the opportunity of attending the wedding.Just for those who think this isn’t a big deal, you should know that The Tweenz are highly sort after wedding guests.I digress, but anyway, such events offer a chance to meet new people, make friends and probably network. The hardest part to this is how to approach someone you fancy and probably even get their number which proves somewhat daunting to the average person.

Trench Tales!!!

Hey Fellow Fashionistas!!!
Lovely Wednesday! The time is here for us to bring out our favourite piece of outerwear that has been trending recently; the classic trench coat. It’s incredibly versatile, going with most outfits, and is a great investment piece that will be in style for years to come. If there was an award for Most Dependable outfit, the trench would win it hands down! The trench coat has always been the perfect compliment to formal wear. Whether thrown over your suit or worn as an alternative to the usual blazer, this piece keeps your clothing  looking pristine on your way to the office, and the commute home.

Date Ready- What to wear.

Fashion Rehab, Personal Style
Hey Friends!!
Hows the weekend been? Finally our strategic retreat is over YAY!!; feels nice to take a breather and take stock of a few things. But honestly speaking I had missed this streets. So part of the things that have been keeping me busy is dates! Yes people my life is this much fun. lol…One thing that makes dates feel like rocket science is always what to wear! No one wants to show up on a first date looking like you have been , through an industrial wind tunnel, seen better days or like you don’t know the Fashion Rehab exists…and worse you might walk in to find Derek Bbanga as your date. Just know you are going to make the subject of a few of his next lectures. Jokes aside…What you wear on a date actually matters a whole lot, more than any of us want to admit. True? or are we over thinking the whole thing?
